Denise Black is probably most familiar to us for her roles in Coronation Street and Queer as Folk.

However, you might not know she is also a singer and on Saturday, November 14 she will be at Epsom Playhouse to perform an evening of music and stories from the heart, supported by her new five piece band.

With Black's husky and idiosyncratic lead vocal, Ben Grove, Hedi Pinkerfeld and Michael Gregory's tight rhythm section and Graeme Taylor's soaring, ecstatic guitar, the Loose Screw sound is smooth, rhythmic and full of harmony.

They combine original songs and eclectic covers, drawn from a lifetime's devotion to folk, pop and rock.

Denise, now 50, has also recorded an album.
