REDHILL'S Like2Fight gym owner Ricky Andrews say's he is over the moon with the performance of his middleweight title contender Joe McDonald after his protégé recorded his most impressive victory to date.

Making his third appearance in the Queensbury League, McDonald made it a hat-trick of victories in the UK's premier boxing league by producing one of the performances of the night to comprehensively out box his London adversary in a final eliminator for the leagues vacant novice Middleweight title and confirm his arrival as one of the divisions most exciting prospects. Against the previously unbeaten Michael Woolsey at the Effingham Park Hotel in Copthorne, the 28-year-old was in superb form, peppering his opponent with spiteful looking jabs that immediately started to redden the face of the visiting Londoner who was soon in trouble as the Croydon stylist blocked all shots.

McDonald looked fresh and ready to do it all over again and was clearly happy with his nights work.

"It all went to plan in there tonight and I stuck to my game plan and it all paid off. We had studied Michael's last performance and knew he was open to the straight shots so that's exactly what I went out to do and it worked perfectly," he added.

I" felt really comfortable and although he did hit me with some powerful shots to the body, I was never in any trouble. I'm just looking forward to finding out who I will be facing for the title and then I will be back in the gym preparing to bring home the title"

Former Southern Area Welterweight champion Chas Symonds who was at ringside said: "It will take some special to stop him winning the belt.
