Hundreds from across Surrey and the south east headed to the Oxted Beer Festival today.

This weekend saw the return of the ever-expanding festival, which takes place at Master Park, and our photographer Steve Gillett headed there today to capture some of the day's moments.

The hugely popular event is one of the best beer festivals around and this year the music line-up is more extensive than ever.

Yesterday pop star Sophie Ellis-Bextor kicked things off, along with Rick Parfitt Junior and the RPJ Band, who return after headlining the Saturday last year.

Party band Get Funked are headlining tonight, while rhythm and blues band Dr Feelgood take the top spot tomorrow.

There is feast of local ales available, with breweries in Oxted, Godstone and Dorking among those represented.

Of course, it wasn't just beer on offer. Those attending could also enjoy a wine or a Pimms.

Nor was music the only entertainment on the agenda. Cricket matches were taking places throughout the day and magician Paul Longhurst was on hand to entertain the crowds.

There was also face painting and a silent disco, not to mention the children's entertainment.

Much of the cash raised goes to charities, including the air ambulance, the Master Park New Pavilion Project and Young Epilepsy.
