Anyone with an internet connection can share their experience of pretty much any restaurant, pub or café they've visited by using the review site, which is great news if you like to scope out a joint before you take the other half for what you hope is a slap up meal.
Here are the 10 best according to how they fared with customer reviews.
1. La Barbe
Bell Street, Reigate
With almost 300 reviews of "excellent", this is the perfect place to eat for those into their French cuisine.
The menu offers tempting, innovative options as well as classic dishes with a modern twist. There is also, as expected, an extensive wine menu, which includes a range of French and New World choices.
Steve M from Redhill wrote on Tripadvisor: "My favourite restaurant in the world - and I eat out everywhere I travel to. The maître d' was exceptional as always and the wait staff always remember you warmly.
"Can't wait for my next visit."
Another user, MrsMichy, said: "La Barbe is a restaurant we keep for special occasions and have never been disappointed.
"Amazing food (the venison was cooked to perfection), and all dishes were presented beautifully. First rate service from the moment we entered (the waiters were attentive and full of personality) and just a quick mention that the Languedoc house red wine was truly delicious."
2. Everest Spice

This Nepalese and Indian restaurant on Derby Square is clearly popular, having received an astonishing 540 positive reviews out of 595 in total.
According to Everest Spice, their food is made from handpicked herbs and spices, which helps create a "authentic flavour and aroma".
Food on offer includes Tandoori dishes, traditional curries, and seafood options. The food doesn't include any colours or preservatives and is produced by specialist chefs, recruited directly from Nepal,
Dorota P wrote: "We visited this place three times and each of the visits was really enjoyable. Great food, the waiters know how to advise (in terms of the food spiciness). It is quite affordable and the dishes are served in a timely manner."
3. Galu Mediterranean Bar & Grill
Nork Way, Banstead
This Greek eatery is just the place for those who enjoy Mediterranean cuisine in relaxed and elegant surroundings.
Galu has received 280 "excellent" or "very good" reviews out of 335 on Tripadvisor.

The Galu's bar offers both table service and seating where, as well as drinking cocktails and wine, you can enjoy Cyprus and Italian platters.

4. Ye Olde Six Bells
Church Road, Horley
One of Horley's oldest and most well know pubs has received a multitude of reviews on TripAdvisor, including more than 1000 positive ones.
The country pub, which has been an important venue in the town for over 700 years, has some great food on the menu.
Dishes include British chicken pie served with spring onion mash and seasonal vegetables; seared fillet of sea bass with crushed baby potatoes, asparagus, lobster and samphire sauce; and traditional fish and chips.
For those with a sweet tooth, there is chocolate ale cake, carrot cake, cheesecake and a crumble of the day.
There are also children's menus.
5. Two To Four
West Street, Dorking
The West Street restaurant has received 245 positive reviews out of 280, and only 11 negative ones.
Two to Four changes up its menu throughout the year to make sure dishes can be made with fresh produce.
Diners can choose from seasonal set lunch and dinner menus along with the restaurant's à la carte menu. There are also vegetarian options and gourmet nights announced regularly.

6. White Lotus Thai Restaurant
Victoria Road, Horley
Named after the lotus flower, a symbol of purity in Buddhist art and literature, The White Lotus has received 226 positive reviews out of 276, with 158 ratings of "excellent".
On the menu there are a range of Thai dishes on offer, including a prawn and seafood soup, salads, curries, grills, stir-fry and fish.
Desserts on offer include banana in coconut milk and mango and sticky rice.
7. Stephan Langton Inn
Friday Street, Abinger Common
Double award winners at the 2016 Surrey Life Food and Drink Awards, this pub prides itself on serving local ales, fine wine and freshly prepared seasonal produce.
The pub has received over 100 excellent reviews and 185 positive ones in total.
TrailRaker from Horsham commented: "Stopped in here to have lunch with a couple of friends after I'd been cycling around the Leith [Hill] area. Stunning setting, good decor and a [generally] well presented establishment.
"The staff were very polite and helpful. The food was very good and exceptionally filling."
8. Buenos Aires Argentine Steakhouse
London Road, Reigate
Nope, you don't have to fly to South America to taste some Argentinian cuisine, as Buenos Aires is right on your doorstep.
The restaurant combines cuts of beef, sourced from grass-fed cattle reared in the fertile lowlands of Las Pampas, with Argentine wines and a vibrant atmosphere.
The restaurant has so far received 247 positive reviews.
9. The Gallery Restaurant
Denbies Wine Estate, London Road, Dorking
Denbies offers more than just wine and tours of its beautiful grounds, there's also a conservatory restaurant with plenty to satisfy the hungry customer, or just those who fancy a light nibble.
There is a breakfast buffet as well as cold and hot lunches, including vegetarian options.
Afternoon tea includes a selection of cream tea, cakes, hot savoury items, cheese scones and cheese straws.
The Gallery has received 174 positive reviews out of 250.
High Street, Banstead
With Italian food and chain restaurants so popular in UK towns, it's no surprise to see a Zizzi make TripAdvisor's top 10.
Banstead's Zizi includes a large heated outdoor dining area open throughout most of the year and serves pizza, pasta and risotto, as well as salads and indulgent desserts. The menus also includes vegan and vegetarian options.
Zizzi has received 186 positive reviews out of 271.
One Tripadvisor user, Nestornauta, wrote: "Eaten here several times now and have always found it to be friendly and accommodating with a good menu choice and variety of mostly Italian dishes to suit most ages and tastes. Wine was very enjoyable.
"This time one of the family group was in a wheel chair and the restaurant was [the] ideal choice as the layout is comfortable and not overly congested.
"Good helpful service and willing to adjust arrangements to help seating needs so no hesitation at all in recommending."
